Before & after photos are the best! Here’s one of my herb garden

Left: Just planted, YES the tomato plant is there, just so tiny!
Right: Yesterday!
The herbs were even twice as tall last week! I had to cut them back for recipes and to let the tall tomato plant breathe a bit.

My pride & joy! CHERRY TOMATOES!
I think next year I’m just planting herbs, veggies, and clover. Hahaha, They’re the ones truly thriving in this year’s garden as I get used to my new house’s sunlight situation.
Roses were doing FABULOUS till some grubs started eating them
*disgusting!* I think I’ve killed them all off Monday though with some rose pesticide.
I’m tired … …

Let’s get off on a tangent!

I was going to blog about how wonderful laying out was today and that I only get to do it max twice a week and even less than that with the crazy rainy season we’ve had lately. And how being able to get out & get some sun helped me feel connected to the happy memories I have of growing up on the MS Gulf Coast. Sure it’s on my terrace and not at the beautiful barrier islands where I spent every weekend of my summers as a kid. So beautiful, the islands are completely cut off from modernizations. One has to own a boat to reach them and then make the half hour boat ride out to spend the entire day there. No power lines or snack stands. i really didn’t know what a “commercial beach” actually looked like till I went off to college. [some photos I found online b/c I haven’t any]

But then it made me think of hurricane Katrina and how the islands are transformed now with broken dead trees which made me think of my family and my hometown [post Katrina] and how you can never “go home again” and how much I hated growing up there in the first place and why can’t my family just move some place better like HERE so I could at least be closer than 1,000 miles from them and how selfish they can be and no one cares about my new home or upcoming wedding and BLAH. Note to self. LIVE IN THE PRESENT MOMENT… always.
I feel better now having gotten that out!
Oh yea~! New layout… sort of. Mainly just a new banner with my tweets stuck up in it! I was getting really sick of the old banner. This one has Rinka & EMI
I just randomly remembered I was gonna trim my bangs this weekend. I think I’ll go do that right now!

It’s true. And after that it’s FREAKIN’ SATURDAY! Thank gooooooodness. Long, long week at work. Ready to chill & catch some sun
! I had stuff to talk about but it’s so late I’ve forgotten. Not to say things are boring, but the non-boring stuff I don’t ever feel like thinking about when “away from it.” *cough* work *cough*
I felt like taking random photos today. Top left: Typical Japanese summer fizzing candy
; next blotting sheets; bottom left is the Pinky calendar (Summer months are scandalous, no?!); Finally my new bedspread and Blackie (a cat pillow I’ve had since I was 14!! He’s my true love… mike gets very jealous)

It’s from UO
. Got it on sale 2 weeks ago
Scanned in Ageha earlier today. GOD IT’S SO AMAZINGLY FANTASTIC.
アハハ八八ノヽノヽノ \ / \笑 the final scans are my favorite. I
this magazine because it picks apart every aspect of the models’ lives! Even showing receipts of purchases and bath-time rituals of each girl!? LOVERRRLY
Anyway, I guess I’m off to bed… the sooner tomorrow begins the sooner I’ll be on my train home
Till then enjoy this gif I made of my windbell
